The DWS780 sliding miter saw for Dewalt was one of my first big products. The saw remains to be Dewalt’s flagship model, even 10 years after its initial launch. I was on a team of two engineers and a drafter that worked to launch this in manufacturing plants on two continents.
I learned so much during this project, in particular design for manufacture, GD&T, and design for injection molding plastics and aluminum. It was a great experience, and I still appreciate seeing my product sitting on the Lowes shelves.
