Standard front outriggers stick down below the front bumper. I developed a rotating front outrigger that allows more ground penetration, while having a greatly increased approach angle over the standard offering.

The largest design consideration was safety and robustness of the cylinder-rotation latching system. This resulted in an innovative solution with a single “lock-unlock” lever that would latch the cylinder’s locking pin into either the roading or latched position that could not be pried open by the outrigger cylinder itself.

This solution was both intuitive to operate, and saved the user the time and effort of having to install a manual pin that would otherwise resist the rotation of the cylinder.
